The purpose of the International Qualifications Exam (IQEX) is to facilitate the US CPA qualification process for those accounting professionals from other countries whose professional bodies have entered into mutual recognition agreements with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). At present, such agreements are in effect only with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA), the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA), CPA Australia, the Instituto Mexicano De Contadores Publicos (IMCP) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland. The IQEX examination is administered each year by the IQEX Unit of NASBA during a three week testing period in November. An individual who has passed the International Qualifications Exam (IQEX) is eligible to receive Illinois certification.
To apply for certification through IQEX complete these steps:
Once the Illinois Board of Examiners has received your online application and your IQEX score
from NASBA your application will be evaluated. When the evaluation is complete you will receive a letter indicating whether you have been approved.
